Medical criminal law

Medical criminal law is a term describing criminal procedures against medical personnel (physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, dentists etc.) who are accused of having committed a crime while treating a patient.
Most of the time the defendant will be investigated for negligent homicide or negligent bodily harm. In these kinds of procedures there will almost always be medical experts who are commissioned to give their assessment of the case.
These reports are very important for the outcome of the case. The problem is that many medical experts will often initially come to the false conclusion that a crime was committed. The reason for that is usually them misunderstanding the legal criteria, for example with regards to the necessary causality.
That is why it is of the utmost importance that you hire a lawyer who is able to carefully and critically audit these kinds of expert reports.
